Senior Leadership Team
Miss Kirsty MacPhie
Mrs Kimberley Hughes
I have been in Cuiken since January 2016 in the role of Depute Head Teacher and then later as Acting Head Teacher. I am passionate about helping our children to feel ready to learn, safe and increase their resilience and self belief. I enjoy our partnership work with our Cuiken Families and the community beyond. Outside of school, I love spending time with my husband, two daughters and our dog. I love adventures and seeing new places too.
Ms Karen Hancock
I have been working in education for over 30 years now and have held a number of positions in both Midlothian and in Edinburgh. I have been at Cuiken since 2006 but previously worked in the SEBN provision before moving into the mainstream school again.
I am a Mum of 1 teenager and a Mum to my wee furry Cocakpoo Ruby. Family is my passion but I also love to travel and have been fortunate to have visited many countries on my bucket list with my favourite being Australia!
Miss Jessica Lowry (Cuiken Nest)
I’m originally from Belfast and studied Primary Education in Aberdeen. I taught in Edinburgh for four years before moving to Hong Kong, where I specialised in additional support needs at an International school for two years. Continuing my passion for inclusion and well-being, I have moved back to Scotland and am now the Principal Teacher at The Cuiken Nest.
