I studied Primary Education at Edinburgh University and have worked in both Edinburgh and Midlothian ever since. I live in Edinburgh with my husband and young family and I'm thrilled to be part of the Cuiken Family as our Depute Head Teacher!
I am passionate about Literacy, ASN and supporting the emotional wellbeing of our learners so they can thrive as part of our school community.
I have been working in education for over 30 years now and have held a number of positions in both Midlothian and in Edinburgh. I have been at Cuiken since 2006 but previously worked in the SEBN provision before moving into the mainstream school again.
I am a Mum of 1 teenager and a Mum to my wee furry Cocakpoo Ruby. Family is my passion but I also love to travel and have been fortunate to have visited many countries on my bucket list with my favourite being Australia!
I’m originally from Belfast and studied Primary Education in Aberdeen. I taught in Edinburgh for four years before moving to Hong Kong, where I specialised in additional support needs at an International school for two years. Continuing my passion for inclusion and well-being, I have moved back to Scotland and am now the Principal Teacher at The Cuiken Nest.
