Support Staff
Miss Kitty Duthie (Sunshine Room)
Before starting at Cuiken I worked as a Class Teacher for four years in the Scottish Borders. I now work in the Sunshine Room as an ASN Teacher, supporting learners throughout our school. I am passionate about nurture and enjoy creating a fun and inclusive learning environment where children feel valued and encouraged. In my spare time I love going to pilates and spin classes, baking and spending time with my friends and family.
Mrs Paula Hartley (Support for Learning)
Over the past 20 years I have enjoyed working in a number of schools across Edinburgh and Midlothian. I joined Cuiken Primary School in April 2024 as the support for learning teacher within the Learning Hub. When I'm not in school I enjoy spending time with my two children, going for long walks and reading books for my book club.
Mrs Lyndsay Milne
Hi, my name is Lyndsay Milne. I have worked at Cuiken Primary as a learning assistant for 12 years. I enjoy my job as I get to work with all age groups which gives me the opportunity to build relationships throughout the school. Outside of school I enjoy exercising and spending time with my family.
Mrs Hope Zyang
I am a learning assistant at Cuiken Primary. I'm originally from China. I love being a learning assistant, and in my spare time I enjoy gardening and crafts. I share my home with two cats, Umi and Sparkles. I also have a rabbit called Peachy.

Mrs Jacqui Porteous
Mr Ryan Leavy
Mrs Amanda Conners
Mrs Lorraine Clark
I've been a Youth Worker at Cuiken since 2022 and have loved working with both small groups and individual children. We've done lots of activities, including outdoor learning and gardening but I've particularly enjoyed working with our P7's, helping them with their transition to High School. When I'm not at Cuiken, I enjoy nothing more than combining my love of photography and the outdoors, particularly at Scotland's many beautiful beaches.
Mrs Michelle Ritchie
I have been working at Cuiken for 26 years, supporting and caring for our Cuiken Family learners. I have a particular interest in nature and the natural world which I love to share with the children.
Mrs Susan Stewart (Cuiken Nest)
I have been a Learning Assistant in the Cuiken Nest for the past 3 years. I really enjoy working with all of the children to ensure they all settle well, enjoy school and have fun! I particularly enjoy outdoor learning and cooking.
Outside of school I enjoy running and walking as well as exploring new places in the holidays.
Miss Jodie Burke (Cuiken Nest)
Hi, my name is Jodie Burke and I have worked in Cuiken Primary School as a learning assistant for children with complex needs since March this year. My favourite thing about my job is supporting our children and working with such amazing staff who inspire me to be better. Outside of school I love spending time with my mum taking the dog long walks.
